STEAM TURBINE PERFORMANCE TESTING
Steam turbine performance services to measure the efficiency of steam turbines in power plants around the world. Steam turbines are an integral part of the equipment for power generation companies. Our team has experience in steam turbines for coal plants, combined cycles and cogeneration power plants. We are ready to support 24/7 around the world.
Our services comply with the applicable ASME PERFORMANCE TESTING CODES for evaluating the performance of steam turbines. For example we follow the ASME PTC 6 for the steam turbine.
STEAM TURBINE PERFORMANCE TESTING
Our services comply with the ASME PERFORMANCE TESTING CODES applicable for evaluating the performance of steam turbines.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Defining the scope of testing is the first step of a successful steam turbine performance evaluation.
Turbo Efficiency team will work with you to define the scope, technical & contractual requirements for evaluating the performance of your steam turbine(s).
We will work together to create a site specific test procedure that will provide a clear guide for:
Main steam turbine performance parameters to evaluate
Testing Instrumentation to Use
Methodology & Calculations
Evaluation of Performance Guarantees
Preparations for Testing & More

Steam Turbine Performance Test Code
“This Code provides procedures for the accurate testing of steam turbines. It is recommended for use in conducting acceptance test of steam turbines and any other situation in which performance levels must be determined with minimum uncertainty. This Code contains rules and procedures for the conduct and reporting of steam turbine testing, including mandatory requirements for pretest arrangements, instruments to be employed, their application and methods of measurement, testing techniques, and methods of calculation of test results. The performance parameters which may be determined from a Code test include: (a) heat rate, (b) generator output, (c) steam flow, (d) steam rate, (e) feedwater flow. ” Reference ASME Website
This code provides the general guidelines to conduct an impartial and accurate steam turbine performance test. In addition, for the particular application of this code to this plant it is important to develop a site-specific steam turbine performance test procedure.
